Outdoor dining area plans for Molloy’s Bar are approved

PLANS for an outdoor dining area at Molloy’s Bar and Grill in Tallaght Village have been given the green light by South Dublin County Council.

Southside Taverns Limited lodged a planning application for the outdoor dining area last May.

The applicant sought permission for the outdoor dining area, the erection of a pergola retractable roofing system over the outdoor dining area, and removable glazed screens and doors to the perimeter.

Provision of an extension to accommodate a new entrance lobby, forming a new entrance into the existing premises at an existing window opening, and construction of a flat roof canopy over with signage, is included.

The application attracted four third-party submissions – issues such as the impact the development could have on nearby residential amenity, late night noise and concerns about if live music will be a part of the development, were raised.

The council granted permission for the outdoor dining area last month, with a number of conditions.

These conditions include the outdoor dining/patio area being operated without music, bands or “any activity that creates unnecessary noise”, and it can only operate between 10am and 11pm.
