Permission sought again for Ballyboden 95-unit development

Permission sought again for Ballyboden 95-unit development

By Aideen O’Flaherty

A NEW application for planning permission for a 95-unit residential development in Ballyboden has been lodged with South Dublin County Council, after the previous application for planning permission was deemed invalid by the council.

Applicant MacCabe Durney Barnes Ltd is seeking permission for the development of a mixed residential development consisting of 46 apartments, to be housed across three blocks, and 49 houses, all to be on a site on Stocking Lane, Ballyboden.

Mixed residential development planned for Stocking Lane

There are plans for the development to consist of 36 two-bedroom and ten one-bedroom apartments, and a mixture of two- and three-storey houses consisting of five-bedroom, four-bedroom, three- bedroom and two-bedroom dwellings.

It is proposed that a new entrance location and design at Stocking Lane will be constructed, with a new access road and pavement to service the development.

There are also provisions for a new separate pedestrian access with a cycleway and path off Stocking Lane, and a new pedestrian access point to Springvale.

The applicant’s previous application for the same development, to be located at the same site, was deemed invalid by the council as a result of “discrepancies” in submitted measurements and dimensions, and the council documented that some of these measurements were “illegible”.

The council also described the erection of a single site notice as “insufficient”, and the applicant was instructed to submit any documentation in the same format as they had submitted in the invalid application if they wished to resubmit the application.

A decision on the applicant’s new, resubmitted application is due from South Dublin County Council by August 14.
