Person of the Year nomination time!
TALLAGHT Community Council ( TCC) launched the 41st Tallaght Person of the Year Awards in The Station restaurant last weekend in Tallaght village.
The brunch-time launch was an energy filled launch event bringing the 2023 winners, the TCC committee, past People of the Year title holders, sponsors, public representatives, Nico Crowley, the current TPOTY, and the 2024 awards special guest, Sharon Keegan together.
The restaurant was full of passion and excitement for the upcoming awards. It is always a great social occasion.
The 2023 category winners were presented with their forever trophy by the Mayor, represented by Mick Duff and current TPOTY, Nico Crowley.
Category winners are always sad to hand back the individual, handmade perpetual trophies but delighted to be again recognised at the end of their tenure.
Vice Chair of TCC, Tara De Buitléar, led the event launch, announcing the opening date of this year’s online nominations is Tuesday, October 1.
Nominations are open for just over 3 weeks and close on Friday, October 25.
Nominations can be made during these dates online HERE.
Tara also announced this year’s special guest and ambassador, the dynamic entrepreneur, founder and MD of the clothing brand, Peachy Lean, Sharon Keegan.
Sharon is a proud Tallaght native.
She spoke of the honour and excitement of being part of the awards this year.
Nico Crowley was acknowledged as his term as Tallaght Person of the Year moves into the final few months.
He will pass on the perpetual chain of office at the ceremony being held in The Maldron hotel on Saturday, November 23.
The TCC Vice Chair acknowledged the vital role the business community makes to the continued success and development of the coveted community awards. Several of the Gold sponsors attended the launch ceremony.
Craig Mahon, MD of Ocean Electric Ltd and Joanne Reynolds of AWS in Communities were on hand to support the launch.
Both are strategic partners for the last few years. Some Silver sponsorship packages remain available for any interested businesses.
TCC wrapped up the launch by encouraging all present to be ambassadors for the awards amongst their circles, to encourage people to nominate the unsung heroes in their lives, and not assume that someone else will.
Nominations open on October 1 online at HERE.
Please, Recognise, Appreciate and Nominate.
