Plans for the construction of accommodation units

PLANNING permission is being sought for the construction of 31 student accommodation units in an existing apartment development in Emmet Court, Goldenbridge, Inchicore.

Applicant Derek Kelly is proposing that the development will be to the north of an adjacent high wall in the subject site, and that the proposed new building will be constructed using masonry construction with a white paint finish, a zinc roof and a charcoal coloured door and window frames.

The planned development will range in height from two- to three-storeys, and the building will include communal facilities such as a reception/management suite, laundry facilities, a plant room and a shared common-room.

It is proposed that storage will be included within the proposed block, and that residents will benefit from a refuse collection point which is to be located at the entrance to the existing apartment development.

There are provisions for 49 bicycle spaces, to be located to the front of the proposed development at surface level, and that open space will be provided in a 233 sq.m landscaped garden to the front of the development, via the existing pedestrian entrance route to the Emmet Court parking area.

The submission also contains provisions for the development to include all site development works, land-scaping, waste management facilities and all other ancillary works.

A decision on the application has not yet been made by Dublin City Council.
