Plans lodged for 148 homes in Adamstown development zone

AN application for planning permission for the construction of a 148-unit residential development in the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) in Lucan has been lodged with South Dublin County Council.

Developer Hugh McGreevy & Sons and Tierra Ltd is seeking permission for the development of 12 four-bed, semi-detached houses, 64 three-bed terraced houses, and three apartment blocks.

It is proposed that Block A will contain 16 apartments/duplexes, to consist of eight one-bed apartments and eight three-bed apartments, while Block B will have 24 apartments, to consist of 12 one-bed apartments and 12 three-bed apartments.

Block C is to contain 32 apartments, to consist of six one-bed apartments and 26 two-bed apartments.

Provision for and all site development works, including the development of new internal roads and footpaths, site access, public open space, car and cycle parking, landscaping, foul and surface water drainage, boundary walls and fences and all associated site works is included in the application.

Permission is also being sought for the development of private and semi-private open space to serve the proposed units, which will be provided in the form of balconies, terraces and gardens on a site located to the south of Tubber Lane Road and in the north west of the Adamstown SDZ lands.

The 3.2-hectare site is located entirely within the boundary of Adamstown Strategic Development Zone, according to the developer’s planning application, and will be accessed via an access point in the south of the application site off Adamstown Drive.

A decision on the application is due from the council by October 3.
