Plans to demolish warehouse to facilitate food store

PLANS have been lodged for the demolition of a warehouse on Ballymount Road Lower to facilitate the construction of a single-storey food store and a number of single-storey retail units.

The applicant, RL Properties, has outlined plans for the development to take place on the site of the CHM Premises on Ballymount Road Lower in Walkinstown.

CHM 07

The proposed demolition of the existing 3,490 sq. m warehouse and ancillary offices will make way for a number of retail units.

It is proposed that a single-storey food store with an ancillary off-licence, with a total gross floor space of 1,758 sq. m, will be built on the site.

There are also plans to construct a 211 sq. m single-storey restaurant/cafe unit, and two single-storey retail units, each with a gross floor area of 255 sq. m.

It is proposed that access to the site will be provided by a relocated vehicular access route on Ballymount Road Lower, and that there will be 99 surface car parking spaces and 10 bicycle parking stands. There are also plans for signage, including two fascia signs, and two poster frame, double-sided internally illuminated signs at an external trolley bay.

The application for planning permission also contains plans for a single-storey ESB substation and switch room, and an 11 sq. m bin storage area.

Third party submissions are being accepted on the application until May 3, with a decision due from South Dublin County Council by May 24.
