THE new Kilnamanagh Tymon Primary Care Centre will be set to open its doors by this summer, according to the HSE, reports Aideen O’Flaherty.

The centre, which is located at the junction of Airton Road and Greenhills Road, was acquired by British healthcare fund MedicX for €15.5m in 2015.

It is also intended that sections of the centre is to be let to a number of local GPs, and space in the building has also been earmarked for the HSE and for the development of a retail pharmacy.

The HSE services that will be available in the new development include community nursing, speech and language therapy, child and adult counselling services, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.

The centre will also provide addiction services, including the Community Alcohol and Drugs Service, and the Youth Drug and Alcohol Service, while EVE Riverview services and mental health services, including a mental health intellectual difficulty team, will also be housed in the centre.

The HSE and GP services in the centre will be let on a 25-year lease, while the pharmacy unit will be let on a 15-year lease.

Last July, a HSE spokesperson confirmed that the HSE has entered into an agreement for a lease with the developer of the centre.

There are provisions for 110 car parking spaces and agreements have been made with local GPs to relocate to the centre. A spokesperson for the HSE told The Echo: “It is envisaged that the HSE Kilnamanagh Tymon Primary Care Centre, Junction House, Tallaght, Dublin 24 will be operational during the second quarter of 2018.”
