
Priory nursing home seeks increase to room numbers
Alterations to nursing home plans at St Mary’s Priory has been submitted to South Dublin County Council by Steamfrost Ltd.
The applicant has lodged permission for the omission of the permitted nursing home pharmacy unit and internal void spaces to facilitate the inclusion of additional staff and IT facilities, the revision of staff accommodation including additional office space, provision of Quiet Rooms on all floors; revisions to lift locations; the provision of an external bin store.

The applicant has also applied for a four-storey extension to the western and northern wings of the Nursing Home Building to facilitate: (a) additional staircase; (b) laundry rooms; (c) bulk storage room; (d) increase in bedroom quantum from 106 to 120 (including bariatric standard bedrooms with ensuite accommodation on all upper floors); and (e) the relocation of plant room; the addition of two EV parking spaces in lieu of two standard car parking spaces to bring the total number to five EV points (the total number of car parking spaces remains as permitted at 24 no. spaces); (viii) the increase in bicycle parking provision to 20 spaces to serve the nursing home; (ix) amendments to windows/glazing to correspond with internal modifications; (x) all site works and landscaping necessary to facilitate the development. No works are proposed in relation to the approved Independent Living Units
In February 2023, St Marys Medical (Tallaght) Ltd was approved planning for the construction of a four-storey storey nursing home building comprising of 106 bedrooms.
