Pupils sense of pride and achievement with exhibition

St Joseph’s Boys National School, Clondalkin held a very successful art exhibition last week.

A steady stream of visitors came to the exhibition, including RTÉ News2day who interviewed boys who were winners in the monthly art competition run by the school.

“All the boys have a huge sense of pride and achievement,” said Maria Kenny, who is a Special Needs Assistant in the school and who organises the exhibition.

Every two years St Joseph’s have an exhibition displaying all the art the pupils have done throughout the year.

“Each boy has a piece or more of art hanging on the walls of the PE hall,” said Maria.

Parents, guardians and family are encouraged to send their art in to be displayed on its own special wall and they are also asked to drop in and leave a comment in the comments book.

Neighbouring schools also like to pop in to view the work.

“The hall is crammed with pictures, paintings and craftwork. The room is ablaze with colour,” said Maria.
