
Raising awareness of postnatal heart failure after giving birth
A YOUNG woman who was diagnosed with heart failure just days after giving birth to her first child is now hoping to raise awareness of postnatal heart failure to prevent other women from ignoring the signs.
Clondalkin woman Emma Connors, 35, had a largely healthy pregnancy during which she managed a diagnosis of gestational diabetes, and gave birth to her and her partner Chris’s son, JJ, in 2021.
