The RAMS in Rhythm, a musical group combined of senior men who entertain, sing and perform in various venues across South Dublin, are raising money for four selected charities through the sale of their debut CD.

The group, which has its roots in Newcastle, is well-known around the area for bringing music into a number of community settings, and for their fundraising efforts.

The release of RAMS in Rhythm CD is to raise funds for four charities - the Laura Lynne Foundation, Down Syndrome Kildare Branch, Capuchin Fathers and St Vincent de Paul.

The musical group was formed six years ago and now, after plenty of practice, dedication and volunteering, a new chapter has begun for RAMS – as they release an 18-track CD of their favourite songs.

The CD, which has an American country music feel, was launched at the InClondalkin Festival, in the Arás Chrónáin Irish Cultural Centre, and at the Marigold Festive day at the Marine Hotel Sutton.

To date over 300 CDs have been sold, with the group’s goal to sell 1,000 copies.

RAMS has high hopes to present the funds to the various charities in time for their Christmas Appeal.

The CD can be purchased for €10 from RAMS musical director at 087 2655683 or by attending their upcoming performance at Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge, on Saturday afternoon, July 21 – during which they will be fundraising for Down Syndrome.
