Reaching for the stars is the way to go in Old Bawn

The theme for Old Bawn Community School College Awareness Week was ‘The Sky is not the Limit – Reach for the Stars’.

With visits from TAP/HEAR ambassadors, community mentors, representatives of various third-level institutions and local businesses, it was an action-packed week for the school community.

The career aspirations of the First and TY students were displayed beside the College Corner and students were inspired to reach their potential and plan for their post-secondary education by the mural in the Yellow Area.

All Junior Students were involved in a college terms quiz and teachers played their part too by wearing badges representing their alma mater.

One of the highlights of the week was receiving an award which recognised the participation of Ms Doherty and OBCS in CAW over the past four years.

Ms O’Connor, TAP Liaison Officer, said, “We were delighted to be part of a nationwide campaign to promote the importance of post-secondary education.

“There are lots of options out there and the College Awareness Week encourages people of all ages to consider further education as part of their future.”
