Rehearsals in full swing for Ovation!
“MUSICAL theatre is how we tell our stories” remarks AIMS director EJ Reilly.
AIMS is the Association of Irish Musical Societies which includes the Inchicore Variety Group (IVG), Harold’s Cross Tallaght Musical Society (HXT), and the Kilmainham Inchicore Musical Society
(KIMS).
Rehearsals are in full swing as talent from across the country come together to bring ‘Ovation! -AIMS ( Association of Irish Musical Societies) 60th Celebration Concert’ to the stage on The Convention Centre on Saturday October 11 at 7.30pm.
From across the county their singers, dancers, kids and chorus have been auditioned and “shone bright” to be selected to be part of AIMS’ 60th anniversary celebration, according to AIMS National PRO Kate Furlong.
Many of the stars taking part in the show are also taking part in their own home society shows including stars from HXT and KIMS so they are sharing their talent locally and nationally.
Their phenomenal production team of director EJ Reilly, musical director Shane Farrell and choreographer Jonny Smith have been bringing the magic to this show which will celebrate musicals in all their forms.
From the songs of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar,’ to ‘Waitress’ to ‘A Chorus Line’ there is something for everyone.
It promises to be a night of celebration of the 60 years of Musicals, of creativity and of local amateur talent which exists and spreads across this island of Ireland.
Kate beams, “So if you have a space in your diary, then we’d love to see you…and fill your musical ears with something that’ll add a treat to your Saturday night!”
