Remembering the young who died too soon
CLONDALKIN group Community Action on Suicide is holding its annual remembrance event on Monday, September 10, in the grounds of Rowlagh Parish Church at 6.30pm.
The event will coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day.
Group members feel areas in North Clondalkin, Ballyfermot and Tallaght seem to be constantly dealing with the aftermath of suicides, and ceremonies such as this are important in creating a sense of solidarity for people affected.
It will take place beside the Remembrance Tree that was planted by Ronanstown Youth Service in memory of local young people who died too soon.
This is a short non-religious ceremony in solidarity with families, friends and communities affected by suicide.
Those present will be invited to put a wish, memory or simply a name on a heart and place it around the Remembrance Tree.
