Resolute wellness studio goes from strength to strength
By Hayden Moore
RESOLUTE Pilates and Wellness studio is celebrating its 11th birthday and is in demand now more than ever having picked up two awards this year.
Based in ACE Business Park in Clondalkin, Resolute focuses primarily on pilates, yoga, meditation therapies, rehabilitation and a more uncommon area, cardiac rehabilitation.
Denise Coughlan helps those who are referred to her from their GP or hospital
Award-winning fitness instructor and trained cardiac rehabilitation instructor, Denise Coughlan, the woman behind Resolute, caught up with The Echo to explain how the Resolute Heart Programme works.
“It’s the same that’s within a gym, except it’s in a controlled environment,” she said.
“When they’re referred to me by their GP or hospital, I get a list of all their conditions, or what they’re recovering from, so I can develop a detailed programme tailored specifically for them to either work in the gym or at home.
“Anybody who has heart problems can have their GP or hospital refer them to me, whether it’s high blood pressure, recovering from bypass surgery or anything else.”
At the end of June, Resolute Pilates and Wellness, was named ‘Best Pilates Class’ at the Irish Fitness Industry Awards after scooping Bronze for Fitness Instructor of the Year at the Nutramino Health and Fitness Awards in March.
About what makes her Pilates class different, she said: “I really focus on individuality to give every person that walks in the door a personalised experience. I don’t focus on just a group, I focus on each person.
“I do a lot of training to make sure that I’m up to scratch and to give participants a professional class.
“A gym environment is very different to this, that’s just a big group, whereas I make sure that they are in small groups.”
With up to 100 people attending classes every week, Denise hires in freelancers to meet the demand when there is an influx.
Most of her business comes from physio and GP referrals for people dealing with back injuries, arthritis and osteoporosis among other things.
Resolute runs three evening classes and one morning class at different levels of ability in the studio but can also travel to businesses to hold corporate classes too.
Drop-in classes cost €12 or to sign up to one of the award-winning eight-week Pilate programmes, it well set participants back €120.
