Rovers have been working in partnership with Roadstone Group Sports Club for the past three years, and this latest development marks another major step forward for the club’s Academy, which caters for players from Under 8 through to Under 19.

Last year saw the club officially launch its new FIFA Pro All-Weather Pitch for which they scooped the ‘Club Development’ accolade at The Echo 2017 Sports Awards.

The club is working with the FAI’s Development Officers across a range of initiatives, with the most recent development being their Amputee Football programme which takes place in Roadstone Group Sports Club every week.

In addition to this, the facility plays a major part in the clubs’ commitment to education hosting the STAR Program.

This offers young people from places like Tallaght, Drimnagh and inner city Dublin the chance to remain sport-focused, through training with Shamrock Rovers and Trinity Sport, while being academically supported by way of the Trinity Access Programmes.

The club will now be turning its focus on Phase Two of their development which includes the building of dressing rooms, gym, lounge and education room.

The club, in partnership with Roadstone Group Sports Club, have received planning permission for this undertaking which is another major boost.
