RTE release list of top 10 highest paid presenters
RTE have released a list of their top 10 highest paid presenters in 2015, with Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy topping the list.
Since the BBC released their list of top earners last week, which showed a gender pay-gap among some of the organisations highest paid presenters, calls had been made for RTE to do likewise.
Tubridy earned almost half a million euros (€495,000) in 2015, while Ray Darcy is second on the list having earned €400,000 after his move to the State broadcaster from Today FM.
Claire Byrne appears on the list for the first time, and her inclusion brings to three the number of women in the top 10.
Byrne is joined by Miriam O’Callaghan who is the highest paid female, along with Marian Finucane.
Liveline host Joe Duffy takes third spot, while others including Sean O’Rourke, Nicky Byrne, Bryan Dobson and Darragh Maloney making up the top 10.
Of the 10 highest earning presenters, just three are employees of RTE, while the other seven are contractors.
Those employed by RTE are Sean O’Rourke, Bryan Dobson and Darragh Maloney.
