Letters: Despite big jump in litter league we still have rubbish problem on our streets

A Chara,

Reading your paper on January 4 there was two articles that I would like to comment on.

I will take the one about the litter dumping first, while it is great to see Tallaght improving in the National Litter League we still have a big problem with litter around our streets.

Blessington Rd Rubbish 02

This was not helped by the Greyhound company sending out notices telling their customers that after Christmas if their green bins were full they could put green waste in a clear plastic bag and leave it beside the green bin and it would be collected with the green bin.

Both my son and daughter who live in different parts of Tallaght put green waste in clear bags and it was not collected, all the clear bags on their roads were left behind and only the bins were emptied.

I also have a relation living in Knocklyon and Greyhound took the clear bags with the bins.
