Russborough House free family fun day
TO CELEBRATE the ‘Community Pool for West Wicklow’ campaign being one-year-old, a free family fun day is being held in Russborough House on August 17.
Many people living in West Wicklow, which reaches from Manor Kilbride to Carnew, have to leave their communities and travel to neighbouring areas. including Tallaght and Naas. to visit a swimming pool.

According to the campaign, schools in the locality have been particularly effected by the lack of swimming facilities in the Baltinglass Muncipal District, which is the only district in County Wicklow without a council-owned or operated swimming pool.
The Community Pool for West Wicklow campaign committee is “committed” to continuing lobbying for the provision of this amenity in the Baltinglas Muncipal District, and has set a fundraising target of €1m over two years.
All money raised will go towards the development and construction of a pool for West Wicklow.
To celebrate a year of the campaign, a family fun day is being held in Russborough House in Blessington on Saturday, August 17, from 1pm to 4pm.
On the day, there’ll be games, dancing, dancercise, face painting, music and water safety tips from Water Safety Ireland.
There’ll also be free access to Russborough’s famous maze from 3pm to 4pm.
