YOUNG dancers from the Ruth Shine School of Dance will be putting their best foot forward for their upcoming movie-themed performance in the Civic Theatre in Tallaght.

The dance school, which holds classes in Lucan, Palmerstown and Blessington, will be giving their young proteges, who are aged from three- to 18-years-old, the opportunity to dance their way through a medley of some of Hollywood’s most renowned films.

The lively performance will cover films from Tinseltown’s golden era of the 1930s, all the way to more modern classics.

Ruth Shine told The Echo: “The rehearsals are going great, although we are a little behind schedule because of the snow!

“The students are so excited to perform, and their dedication is amazing.”

‘An Evening of Movies and Musicals’ will be the result of the students’ hard work over the last few weeks and will be an exciting night for both the young dancers and the audience.

Energetic and elegant

Ruth added: “The audience can expect an energetic, elegant and exciting performance of Hollywood classics from the 30s right through to today, from our youngest students to our pre-professional dancers.”

‘An Evening of Movies and Musicals’ will be on in the Civic Theatre on Saturday, March 24 at 3pm and 7pm, and Sunday, March 25, at midday, 3pm and 7pm.

Tickets are €17 for an adult, €12 for a child, and a family ticket for two children and two adults will cost €50.
