A MAN who sexually assaulted a woman by getting into bed and grabbing her breast has been remanded for a victim impact statement by Blanchardstown District Court.

Eddie McGrane had originally pleaded not guilty but changed his plea before the hearing date.

McGrane, aged 54, with an address at Slade Castle Walk, Saggart, is charged with sexually assaulting the named woman at the above address on October 30, 2015.

Judge David McHugh had previously accepted jurisdiction in the case.

The court had heard that on October 30, 2015, the victim was in a bedroom in McGrane’s home. McGrane allegedly got into bed with the woman, grabbed her breasts and tried to kiss her. The court had heard that the victim was 35.

McGrane’s counsel, George Burns Bl, told Judge McHugh that they were still awaiting a victim impact report. He said his client was hoping to get a place in Cuan Mhuire.

Garda Shane Barry told Judge McHugh that he had been unable to contact the injured party. He said he was going to “go through social welfare” to contact her.

Judge McHugh remanded McGrane on continuing bail to a date in July for the victim impact statement and for sentencing.
