SDCC say Foxhunter pub site is ‘safe and secure’
DESPITE LOCAL concerns, the site of the former Foxhunter pub in Lucan is safe and secure, South Dublin County Council says.
The issue was raised at Tuesday’s Lucan area committee meeting of SDCC. Councillor William Lavelle put down a question asking the “Chief Executive to urgently seek the maintenance of the former Foxhunter site given the significant local concerns over the unkempt and visually unattractive nature of the site; and to further provide an update on our repeated requests for a meeting with the agents of the owners?"
The Council replied and stated that the former Foxhunter site at Ballydowd was last inspected on September 18, 2017.
The Council added: “The Inspector reports that the site is safe and secured and that no works are required at present. South Dublin County Council, Enforcement & Licensing continues to monitor the site on a regular basis and has contact with the agent working on behalf of the owner of the site.
“There are no updates to report as yet regarding any future change of use / purpose of the site”.
