Sean and Conor Price fans discover they are cousins

TWO teenage girls who struck up a friendship after a concert by X Factor stars Sean and Conor Price last March, and kept in touch and attended more concerts by the Blessington natives afterwards, recently discovered that they’re cousins.
Last March, Sarah Todd (13), from Walkinstown, travelled to Mayo with her mother, Tara Claxton, to see her idols Sean and Conor Price in concert but, as a result of train delays and a cancelled bus service, by the time Sarah and Tara arrived at the venue the concert had already ended.
What started out as a disastrous experience for Sarah then became a positive one, when she began chatting to another teenager, Jamie Lynn Morgan (14), from Clondalkin, at the venue, and they struck up a friendship over their shared love of Sean and Conor Price’s music.
The teenagers kept in touch via social media and became good friends, and went to see the Price brothers live in Vicar Street together in June.
Last month, Jamie Lynn tagged her mother and Sarah in a competition on Instagram, and Sarah noticed that Jamie Lynn’s mother had the same last name as Tara, and the girls’ mothers realised that they were related.
“Our families fell out before the two girls were born,” Tara told The Echo. “I was seven-years-old when I lost contact with them.
“So, I suppose it’s nice for me too that through my daughter I have found a first cousin, Linda [Jamie Lynn’s mother].
“The two girls have a great bond, and they would have never known each other only through the Price brothers.”
Tara, who had been in touch with the Price brothers’ father, John, after her daughter was upset about missing out on the chance to see the musicians perform in Mayo, made the Prices aware of the girls’ recent discovery and they then got to meet their idols at a gig in Carlow.
“The girls lost the plot, they were screaming!” said Tara.
“The girls were thrilled that they got to meet them.
“Sean and Conor were amazed that the two of them were cousins.”
The girls will be going to see Sean and Conor Price live again when they kick off their UK tour in London in October, and they’re grateful to have met each other through their favourite musicians.
“It’s amazing to think that at the first Sean and Conor Price concert they met as friends,” said Tara, “and at the last concert on their Irish tour they stood with Sean and Conor Price as cousins.”
