Second store forced to temporarily close due to industrial fire in Cookstown

THE impact of the fire at Cookstown Industrial Estate continues to be felt with the nearby Halfords store shut as a direct result.
Halfords, which is based in Belgard Retail Park, has remained closed since the fire and have a sign posted on the front door of the store to inform the public.

The sign reads: "Unfortunately this store is closed until further notice due to a fire at a nearby premises.
"Please find our local stores such as Liffey Valley, Carrickmines, Blanchardstown and Naas for all your needs."
They have asked that people with orders or other issues contact their customer services “via live chat” at www.halfords.ie.
The unit next to Halfords houses Rightstyle Furniture, a local family business which was also forced to shut as a result of the industrial blaze on November 16.
Rightstyle, who employs 20 people, had a clearance sale last week of all of their smoke damaged products and are in the process of chemically cleaning their store.
The company are targetting a re-opening after Christmas, with painting and electric works to be carried out before then.
Dublin Fire Brigade attended the scene around 7pm on the Monday evening, as eight units including two aerial appliances worked hard to bring the fire at Safa Food under control.
The following morning, two firefighter crews were still at the scene of the industrial fire.
Following the fire, Safa Food took to social media to inform their followers of the incident.
“It is with great sadness that we must inform that our Cookstown premises burnt down last night,” it read.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the Fire Brigade for their brave and tireless work.
“Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the fire.
“Our immediate priority is the well-being of our staff – some of whom have stood with us since the very beginning.
“We count ourselves lucky working with such great men and women and we will do everything in our power to support them in the wake of this horrible event.
“To all the people who reached out to us privately, we appreciate the concern and your well wishes.
“Together we’ll get through this.”
