A RATHCOOLE native has made it through to the semi-finals of Norway’s Got Talent, after a cracking Irish breakfast-inspired performance charmed and baffled judges.
As reported recently in the Echo, Rathcoole magician and illusionist Denis Stone beat off 60,000 acts to become one of 80 performers to reach the quarter finals of the hit TV show.

However, after impressing judges during the quarter finals, Denis (36) bagged a spot in the semi-finals – and is among the top 40 acts.
Denis, who moved to Norway after meeting a Norwegian lady, told The Echo: “I'm absolutely over the moon.
“To get this far is really something, from 60,000 acts at the start and now down to the last 40 is really something surreal considering I don’t even speak Norwegian!”
When asked about his performance on the quarter-finals, Denis said: “Last week involved everything from an Irish Breakfast – eggs, sausages the lot.
“I not only got four yes votes but each one of the judges said “I love you” which left me really shocked.
Life-long passion
“Magic is my life-long passion and profession and I’m very happy that folks are getting to enjoy it as much as I do.”
Denis, who is a father-of-two, added: “As regards the semi-final, I’m going to deliver more amazing magic, with all of the comedy thrown in on top.
“Everyone needs a laugh along with the wow of magic and that’s what I aim to deliver.
“Fingers crossed I can go one step further at the semi-finals, and I’d like to thank people for all of the support from Ireland…it’s been amazing and is really driving me on.”
Denis, who comes home to Ireland regularly to perform and is a former members of St Mary’s GAA Club in Saggart, will take to the stage of the Norway’s Got Talent semi-finals on April 13.
