Shauna Keogh – ‘Getting Away with Murder’ trailer whets the appetite

A documentary detailing the disappearance of Wexford teenager, Fiona Sinnott, is being made by Emmy-nominated TV producer, Shauna Keogh, and is gearing up to fill in the true-crime void left behind from ‘Making a Murderer’.
Kingswood director, Shauna, has spent the last year making the documentary titled ‘Getting Away With Murder’, that is set to inspect the life of Fiona before she was murdered.

Fiona was only 19-years-of-age when she went missing in February 1998, and it took 7 years after her disappearance for her case to be upgraded to a murder investigation.
The trailer was released last week and we see Fiona’s family talking about the crime, before it ends explosively with a man saying “they know where she is” – leaving us on the edge of our seats after the minute-long trailer finishes, and longing for more.
Shauna caught up with The Echo to tell us about what initially drew her to this project.
She said: “I have a real passion for factual filmmaking and I remember this case – I remember when Fiona went missing in 1998.
“Like not a lot of people go missing here so it was huge news when it happened and then I went away and worked on crime stories in the States for a few years.
“Then when I came back to Ireland I remembered what happened to Fiona and I wanted to make something about this case and started looking into it, and investigating.”
She then continued on about what audiences can expect when ‘Getting Away with Murder’ hits our television screens this autumn.
“I think people will see things in different ways and get a real sense of what Fiona was like before all of this happened. How somebody can go to the pub with a few friends and then just disappear is… well, I think this documentary will ask a lot of questions.. and want more answers..”
The hour-long documentary is set to hit our television screens in a few months on the newly-rebranded TV3 – now called Virgin Media One.
