Sheridan emerges double world champ
KILNAMANAGH man Mark Sheridan twice went top of the podium at the recent WSKF World Championships in Tokyo after winning out in his respective kumite and kata divisions.
Sheridan, who is the instructor in WSKF Senshi Karate Club, based in Kilnamanagh Community Centre and Tallaght Martial Arts HQ, was recently promoted to Chief Instructor of WSKF Ireland.
He has been training in karate for more than 30 years and has been an instructor for 10.
Indeed a number of his protégés have picked up medals at international degree.
Most recently in Tokyo he coached Niamh Hogan – another WSKF karateka who trains with him – to the Women’s Kumite World Championship title, subsequently bringing the WSKF Senshi Karate Club gold medal count to three.
