Shopping centre plans are at the design stage
By Aideen O'Flaherty
PLANS for improvement works to Castletymon Shopping Centre are currently at the detailed design stage, according to South Dublin County Council, reports Aideen O’Flaherty.
The plans are being developed as part of the District Centre Enhancement Programme, which aims to improve local businesses and shopping centres and increase their green credentials.

The plans for Castletymon have not yet been confirmed, but the programme generally includes increased planting, provision of green spaces, bottle refill water stations, and EV charging stations, as well as improving street furniture to promote cycling and walking by providing bike stands and seating.
The plans are expected to go to tender later this year, according to the council.
This follows on from the approximately €500,000 that the council spent carrying out improvement and repair works in Tallaght Village in recent years.
These works included paving repairs throughout the village, and improvement works at the Old Greenhills Road and Old Bawn Road/Main Street.
The council stated that “there are no proposals for the inclusion of any further works in Tallaght Village at this time”.
