Silver medal for Leroy at World Taekwondo Ranking Event

South Dublin Taekwondo’s Leroy Nsilu Dilandu returned to the World Taekwondo Ranking Event Podium obtaining a well earned silver medal at the event hosted in the outskirts of Paris.

The ‘Solidarity’ event which was open to all Olympic Style taekwondo enthusiasts attracted some top athletes many of whom were having match time before the upcoming Olympics.

The event targeted refugee athletes to attend with assistance offered by the organising committee to attend.

Going into the event as seed 1, Dilandu has a bye in the round of 16.

A brace of wins saw him achieve another world ranking final, closely fought contest where Leroy had to settle for the 2nd tier of the podium and a silver medal in his -74kg division.

Also coaching his debut world ranking medal for SDTKD Club was Cyrus Shirvani who was in the coaches chair throughout the day.
