Social investment fund Clann Credo are offering a €10 million fund which will help clubs and community centres maximise their sports capital grants, reports Aura McMenamin.
Several sports clubs across the county received funding, with the maximum being €150,000 for each club, from the government’s sports capital programme, worth €56m, in December.
Tallaght Town AFC, Ballyboden St Enda’s GAA Club, the Glenanne Trust Corp Ltd, South Dublin County Council, and the Templeogue Lawn Tennis Club all received the maximum amount of funding.
Inchicore-based not-for-profit Clann Credo, which was set up by the Presentation Sisters in 1996, are hoping to offer clubs further finance at affordable rates.
CEO Paul O’Sullivan said: “We recognise all the effort, hard work and energy that local leaders devote to their communities, and we don’t want finance to be an obstacle to their projects.
“We can also assist those clubs who were disappointed not to be allocated a Sports Capital Grant.”
According to Clann Credo, they have already loaned over €10 million to more than 100 amateur sports clubs around the country, providing better facilities, better clubhouses, better training facilities and better equipment.
