Run in partnership with Irish Water, these awards recognise the dedication and innovation shown by schools that have been working on the Water theme and are receiving the Green Flag award for Water this year.

This is the third year of the awards, which also celebrated the winners of the Green-Schools Irish Water Poster Competition and awarded, for the first time, four new regional Green-Schools Water Ambassadors.

Ten other winners of this year’s annual Green-Schools Irish Water Poster Competition also received prizes today for their entries to the competition.

New to the awards this year were the new Water Ambassadors, chosen after Green-Schools Water Workshops were held in four locations for secondary schools students during Engineers Week 2016.

The new Ambassadors have shown their capability in spreading awareness of water conservation issues in their schools and wider communities.
