
St Kevin’s/Killian’s U14s lift cup title
THERE was delight for St Kevin’s/Killian’s U14 girls football team after they won the cup – beating Na Fianna 5-6 to 2-6 in the final, reports Leopold Herter.
The two sides already knew each other, due to a faceoff before in the group stage.

Both teams began very well in the match but Kevin’s/Killian’s centre half forward Georgia McGovern was the first one to score.
Despite a restless phase, where the ball was played back and forth, Na Fianna managed to take control over the match, as they scored three times in row.
But it was Kevin’s/Kilian’s who went into break with a 2-5 to 1-3 lead.
After the restart, Na Fianna was able to keep the possession and rewarded hit back with a goal eight minutes and two points in quick succession.
However with corner forward Alli Joyce in flying form with two goals and midfielder Katie O’Neill and left half forward Ciara Richardson impressing, the Tallaght side held firm.
The Mobhi Road side could only register one-point in ther closing ten minutes as Kevin’s/ Killian’s secured the title.
