Students take part in AbbVie Experience Day
STUDENTS from Coláiste Bríde in Clondalkin, took part in a recent educational event called the AbbVie Experience Day.
AbbVie, the biopharmaceutical company with sites in Dublin, Cork and Sligo, partners with Young Social Innovators (YSI) to run a series of innovation exchange events, which gave company employees the chance to interact with students from their local community at their offices and manufacturing sites across the country.
The students from Coláiste Bríde presented their Blood for Good project, which they entered into an AbbVie-sponsored STEM and Social Innovation competition in 2017.
Schools from across Dublin, Cork and Sligo visit AbbVie workplaces and interact with employees from a wide range of professional backgrounds.
This exercise provided participating students with a great insight into the work undertaken at AbbVie and also encourages them to consider STEM disciplines as leaving certificate, university and career options.
