Taaffe to leave Council after three years as Director of Land Use Planning and Transportation
By Aideen O'Flaherty
SOUTH Dublin County Council’s Director of Land Use, Planning and Transportation Eddie Taaffe is returning to Wexford County Council after three years in SDCC.
Mr Taaffe previously worked in local government in Wexford for 17 years before he took up his post with South Dublin County Council.
The Wexford native told The Echo: “I have very much enjoyed working with the staff and the elected members.”
When asked about what he enjoyed most about his work in SDCC, Mr Taaffe said: “I suppose problem solving, and getting residential developments going again.”
Mr Taaffe added that helping to devise the South Dublin County Development Plan, and various development plans including the Adamstown SDZ, Ballycullen and Fortunestown, were some of the more enjoyable experiences he’s had in the role.
South Dublin County Council has recently advertised for the role of Director of Service, with the closing date for receipt of applications being 3pm on Thursday, October 19.
