Tallafest fun and games on the way

WITH September upon us, there are only a short number of days until the annual celebration of all things Tallaght.

Tallafest 2016 will take place on Saturday, September 10 and the festival is set to kick off in style at this year’s opening ceremony.

Highlighting thecolour, arts, music and fun of Tallafest, the opening ceremony will kick off at the playing pitches of IT Tallaght with a special rehearsal performance from the Viking Drumming Corps at 11am.

From there, the celebrations will continue with the opening ceremony parade making its way down Main Street.

On show will be a collection of beautiful vintage cars and infectious music from talented Sonna Samba band with Tallaght’s own Transplant game athletes James and Lenny greeting the crowds.

A burst of colour will serenade the crowds as the balloon mascots greet the parade when it arrives at the Priory.

A fun and exciting new competition for all of Tallaght’s creative minds will also launch at Tallafest 2016, with fantastic prizes on offer for the most imaginative and creative entry!

The plastic bottle re-modelling competition is a great opportunity for Tallaght’s budding artists to showcase what they can make from a standard two-litre bottle.
