
Tallaght athletes in good form in c’ships
TALLAGHT AC athletes were in good form at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships in Athlone last weekend with several making the medal podium.
Lily Cowap delivered a great sprinting performance when taking silver in the U16 60m final with a time of 7.86 seconds and also performed admirably in the high jump with a fourth place finish after clearing 1.5m.
Mason Mitchell recorded an excellent new personal best jump of 6.07m for a silver medal in the U16 long jump.
Abdullahi Adeleke was another who performed superbly when taking bronze in the U18 200m with a time of 22.73 and he recorded a time of 7.25 in the 60m final to finish fifth.
Leonard Deering recorded a time of 53.99 to also finish fifth in the U17 400m final and managed a ninth place finish in the 800m final with a time of 2:02.8
Several other athletes made the finals also.
Arianna Adeyemo Concanno finished fifth in the U13 60m with a time of 7.49 seconds while Beauty Ikpefua finished eighth in the U18 60m with a time of 8.1 seconds. Divine Olorunleke also finished eighth in the U17 60m final with a time of 8.13.
Others who competed included Madison McKeown and Kym Flanagan who recorded times of 9.03 and 9.35 respectively in the heats of the U12 60m while Jola Pearse managed a time of 8.53 in the U17 6m heats.
Gabriella Azeez ran 8.17 in the U18 60m heats while Thalia Quinn O’Reilly recorded a time of 01:00.3 in her U17 400m heat with Maya Stella jumping 4.44m in the U17 long jump.
