The DPP had previously directed trial on indictment in Hilliard’s case.

Hilliard, aged 54, with an address at Bolbrook Grove, Tallaght, is charged with sexually assaulting a named female at a care home in south Dublin on a date unknown between February 20, 2013 and January 6, 2016.

He is also charged with sexually assaulting another named female at the same care home on a date between June 24 and June 25, 2016.

In relation to the second charge, Hilliard allegedly videoed himself touching the woman’s breasts and put the video up on Facebook.

A solicitor for the DPP told Judge Patricia McNamara that the book of evidence was not ready. She said she had spoken to the defendant’s solicitor and asked for a further four weeks.

Hilliard’s solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan, said there was consent to the remand.

Judge McNamara remanded Hilliard on continuing bail for four weeks for service of the book of evidence.
