He was accompanied in court by his mother.

The court had heard that at 12.15am on August 18 last, a garda had observed a car driving erratically on a street in Tallaght.

The car was stopped and the teenager was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. The teenager later provided a urine sample which provided a reading of 115mg alcohol over 100ml urine.

Sergeant Michael Ahern told Judge Patricia McNamara that the teenager had two previous convictions from District Court 55 on January 31 last.

The teenager’s counsel, Stephen Montgomery BL, asked the judge to adjourn the case for a probation report.

Judge McNamara adjourned the case for a month for a probation report, a plea in mitigation and to finalise the case.
