Award-winning musician Glen Hansard performed at Labre Park, Ballyfermot, on November 11, as part of Dublin City Council’s Dublin’s Culture Connects.

Hansard was at Labre Park with Dublin poet and writer Stephen James Smith, who is working with Traveller women as part of (Y)our Story.

The project of song and spoken word is sparking memories, helping them to tap into Traveller culture as part of the wider Irish culture through the medium of storytelling.

The Labre Park initiative is one of a number of (Y)our Story projects taking place across the Dublin South Central area.

It sees artists work with local community groups in collaboration with the National Concert Hall and the Chester Beatty Library on the theme of storytelling, turning ‘your’ story into ‘our’ story.
