AN AUTISTIC teenager who told a garda to “get the f**k away from me” had his case remanded for a probation report by Tallaght Court.

The 17-year-old had initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea to guilty during the trial.

The teenager, who has an address in Ballyfermot, was charged with breaching the peace at the Naas Road on July 21, 2017.

Garda Geraldine Ross told Judge Patricia McNamara that at 3.30pm on July 21 last, she had been dealing with a road traffic incident on the Naas Road with a colleague when the teenager approached her.

Garda Ross said the teenager was highly aggressive and she directed him to leave the area.

She said the teenager refused to do so and told her: “You are not taking my f**king car. Get the f**k away from me.”

She said the teenager was then arrested.

The teenager’s counsel asked Garda Ross if the teenager had been in a disturbed state.

Garda Ross replied: “He was very aggressive.”

The teenager’s mother told Judge McNamara that her son had been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and an Emotional Behaviour Disorder.

The Counsel then said her client was changing his plea to guilty.

The court heard that the teenager had no previous convictions.

Judge McNamara remanded him for a month for a probation report.
