Thank You wall at TUH

THANK You can be said in more ways than one, as is evident from a new wall of gratitude in Tallaght University Hospital.

The Executive Management team and TUH Board have installed a unique Thank You wall on the main avenue through the hospital.

The wall reflects the 56 nationalities working across the hospital, with the words Thank You translated into 36 official languages.

Commenting on the installation of the wall, TUH CEO Lucy Nugent said: “The installation of the Thank You wall is a very visible way of thanking all of our staff across the hospital for their incredible work and commitment particularly in the last year.

“Patient care and the running of the hospital involves an enormous team effort and that has never been more evident than in the last year.”

The wall was installed with support from the hospital’s Arts Officer, Alison Baker Kerrigan.

In other hospital news, all TUH staff will have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine by the end of this week.

In a comment to The Echo, a hospital spokesperson said that around 75 per cent of staff have received both doses.

TUH also vaccinated colleagues from the Children’s Hospital Tallaght, the HSE mental health unit, medical/nursing students and some GP practice colleagues.

Speaking about TUH’s vaccine clinic, Ms Nugent said: “I would like to acknowledge the incredible work of everyone involved in the vaccination clinic – there was such a positive energy at the clinic and it was run with great efficiency”.
