COMEDY group The Nualas are primed to set the Civic Theatre stage alight with their new show ‘All Spanxed Up’, which will see the three-piece don their finest sequined dresses for a night of music and comedy.

The seasoned comedy performers have been around since 1995, with a 10-year hiatus in 2001, and have performed all over Ireland, the UK and the US.

The Dublin-based trio, consisting of Anne Gildea, Sue Collins and Maria Tecce, will be bringing their new show to the Civic Theatre on Friday September 1, promising a show where they will debut “fabulous new dresses and fabulous new songs”.

The Nualas have performed on the Civic Theatre stage regularly over the years, and they always look forward to performing for a Tallaght audience.

Anne Gildea told The Echo: “We always love playing Tallaght.

“The audience is always up for the craic, and they’re always very witty.”

The show will be a mixture of musical numbers and stand-up pieces from the comediennes, who are confident that the Tallaght audience will have a great night.

Anne added: “The audience can expect fantastic entertainment and joyful, uplifting stuff.

“As soon as we step out on stage we know it’ll be a great night, our material always goes down really well.

“The show is great craic, it’s very down-to-earth and we always have good banter.”

Anne commented that the trio get inspiration for their material “from everyday life”, including a paean about a woman who gets cosmetic surgery and some material from the group’s own life experiences.

Tickets for the show are €20 or €18 concession, but from today, Thursday August 10, a limited number of tickets will be available for €14.

Tickets are available online at civictheatre.ie or by phone by calling the box office on 01 462 7477.
