There was plenty of cheese (and onion) on tonight’s Irish Blind Date

The first episode of the Irish Blind Date aired tonight on TV3, and there was plenty of laughs, a little love, and even some sparks (from a welding rod!).

Tallaght’s Al Porter led the contestants through the questions, and, as expected, the answers were full of jokes and some were even a bit risque.

First up, Lucan’s David Mulligan bagged a date with Dionne O’Brien from Cork, and David certainly didn’t fall short when it came to his answers.

Tallaght man Gary O’Grady also bagged himself a date with Jennifer, and we’ll be seeing more of the buff gym bunny next week.

Another Tallaght native, Ray Kelly was sent to Tayto Park for a blind date with Aisling O’Sullivan, and although the pair enjoyed the day out, love never blossomed over a pack of cheese and onion crisps.

As always, Twitter was the place to be for the best reaction (good, bad and indifferent) – here’s some of the best tweets from the night.
