There will be a huge fireworks display in Lucan this weekend

The Lucan Festival will explode into life on Friday evening with a thrilling fireworks display over the Liffey Weir.

A new addition to the festival which officially begins today, the display, in association with South Dublin County Council, will light up the sky and make for a spectacular event.

The public are advised that a viewing area on Weir View Road will be the best spot to see the fireworks from 8pm.
