In 1998, he was a founder member of the successful Clondalkin Toastmasters Club, and is a former member and past President of IE Toastmasters Club.

Francis was particularly delighted as this was his second such award, having previously been honoured for his outstanding contribution as President of the IE Toastmasters Club for 2013/2014.

Toastmasters member Gabriel Duffy said Francis’s outgoing personality is a defining characteristic of his input to the organisation.

Gabriel said: “He selflessly gives his time and skills in assisting members and guests, and has travelled throughout Ireland giving test speeches at club competition. He was an innovative and enthusiastic president of IE Toastmasters Club, always striving to encourage and assist new and not so new members.”

Several Toastmasters clubs throughout the country provide training in the skills of public speaking – visit www.toastmasters.org for further details.
