Uninsured driver put off road for two years
By Brendan Grehan
AN UNINSURED driver has been put off the road for two years by Tallaght Court.
Wayne Hart had to do a driving awareness course run by the Restorative Justice Service.
He was before Judge Patricia McNamara for a restorative justice report.
Hart, aged 36, with an address at Cloonmore Lawn, Tallaght, had pleaded guilty to having no insurance and no driving licence at Kiltipper Road, Tallaght, on June 28, 2016, and at Fortunestown Way, also Tallaght, on August 5, 2016.
The court heard that Hart has 15 previous convictions including three for no insurance.
Hart’s solicitor, Padraig O’Donovan, said his client had completed the restorative justice programme including the driving awareness course.
Judge McNamara fined Hart €450 with a two-year ban for the no insurance from August and sentenced him to 150 hours community service with five months jail in default.
She also fined him €200 for the no driving licence from August 5.
The remaining matters were taken into consideration.
