Vandals target Rovers’ Milltown monument and Tallaght Stadium ahead of Dublin derby
The Shamrock Rovers monument at Milltown has been defaced and graffiti has been sprayed on the entrance to Tallaght stadium ahead of tonight’s Dublin Derby against Bohemians.
The Milltown monument, erected in May 1998 by fans to remember the club’s ‘spiritual’ home, has been defaced before, and will only add to the tensions between certain sections of supporters ahead of the tonight’s game in Dalymount Park.
BSC (Bohs Soccer Casuals) and BBC (Bohs Baby Crew) was sprayed on the monument in red paint, while similar lettering was sprayed on the outside doors of Tallaght Stadium overnight.
The last reported time the monument was defaced as in 2013.

The graffiti at Tallaght Stadium was removed first thing this morning, while the monument has also been cleaned.
Speaking with Echo.ie, a Shamrock Rovers club representative said: “The club is disappointed with the behaviour of these mindless idiots, but we are all looking forward to tonight’s game and the focus is on that now.”
