
Village traffic brought to a standstill as accident causes car to tumble over

EMERGENCY services were called in on Wednesday night following an traffic accident in Tallaght village which resulted in a car turning over.
It is understood a vehicle coming from the Tallaght bypass collided with two cars that were waiting at the traffic lights and on the opposite side of the road.
Two units of the fire brigade service attended the scene, along with an ambulance. The driver of the turned-over car was taken to Tallaght Hospital.
Traffic going into the village was diverted by Gardaí away from the road leading from the village towards the bypass.
Road conditions in the area were bad due to the heavy rain falls on Wednesday.
Torrential rain conditions made driving difficult and are thought to be a contributory factor in the accident.
