VINTAGE car enthusiasts are invited to attend a classic car show in Bohernabreena on July 7 – a new community event which will also feature food and live music.
The Bohernabreena Classic Car Show & Fair, is a family friendly event, dedicated to celebrating the timeless beauty and heritage of vintage and classic automobiles and craftsmanship.
It is free entry with all donations on the day going towards St Anne’s GAA Club, the chosen charity for the event’s committee Pieta House, and running of the day itself.
Beauties on display at the 14 acre site will include elegant British roadsters, powerful German sports cars, stylish Italian classics, and rare French imports.
There will be automotive market traders present selling all things cars, from steering wheels, car cleaners , automotive books and tools.
Brian Tyrrell, Chairman, Bohernabreena Classic Car Show & Fair, invites all classic car aficionados and friends to attend.
In an invitation sent out to classic car clubs, Mr Tyrell believes the event will be a “fantastic opportunity for your club members to showcase their prized possessions, connect with fellow collectors, and immerse themselves in a community that shares their passion for automotive history.”
“In addition to the spectacular display of classic cars, the event will also feature live music entertainment on the day and there will be affordable food vendors and beverage stands and plenty of opportunities to engage with local craft fair businesses and organizations that cater for classic car community as well.”
There will be individual prizes for ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Best Car Club Display.’
The Firhouse local craft fair will be selling local produce, art work, wood turners and picture frame makers.
Essentially this event is smaller version of the old Terenure car show that used to be held in Terenure College.
The committee members that set this up in St Anne’s GAA club on January 8 consist of Brian Tyrrell, Jeff Bibby of Tallaght Powder Coating , Paul Barnes of the Bohernabreena Fuel Depot, Myles Murphy, Joe McManus, Declan Webb, Mick Brett and Fergus Walsh.
“This is our first year but we aim to hit the ground running with quality over quantity and value for money for the locals and non local visitors,” said Jeff Bibby.
The event is sponsored by Karl Goodwin Motors, a local originally from Bohernabreena who has a well known car dealership selling high end luxury cars, classic cars and all other types of bespoke vehicles.
It takes place on Sunday, July 7 in Bohernabreena from 11am to 4pm.
