Water supply to be restricted across Dublin
NIGHTLY water restrictions, which are likely to lead to a loss of supply, are being put in place across Dublin from tonight (Monday).
The restrictions, which will be operation from 7pm to 7am, are being put in place to allow reservoirs to replenish – with Irish Water today urging people to conserve water in an effort to restore levels in treated water reservoirs to normal.
Described as a “serious situation” by Gerry Grant, Managing Director of Irish Water, a significant number of people are expected to experience water restrictions over the coming days and weeks.
According to South Dublin County Council, restrictions will be reviewed on a daily basis and the public is asked to check for regular updates through national and local media.
Information will also be available through Irish Water’s @IWCare Twitter feed or by calling 1850 278 278.
